There’s a built-in wine display cabinet that holds up to 180 bottles, and bold modern art pieces that give the space a chic, contemporary feel. The sleek, modern kitchen has Gaggenau appliances, including two rotisserie ovens and a refrigerated drinks drawer.

In winter, Chalet Écliptique is staffed. The team will serve you continental breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks, with a menu of Champagne, fine wines, beers, hot drinks and soft drinks included in the price. Hosts will take care of your housekeeping while you are out on the ski slopes, and on-call 24-hour driver service is also included with a hosted stay. Head down the stairs or catch the lift down to level two and you’ll find a games room and bar area, complete with a pool table, bar stools and a TV. The pool table can be converted into a games table, with benches for gathering the family around for a games night. From the bar, doors open out onto a large terrace with plenty of seating and uninterrupted views across the entire village. It’s a truly special spot to soak in the scenery and watch the skiers on Pleney’s slopes. ‘Ecliptique’ means the path of the sun, and you’ll find this chalet in Morzine has full sunshine from morning until night.

A few steps take you to a deck with a hot tub, which seats up to 10 people, so pop on the SONOS speaker and enjoy. Level two is also home to three gorgeous bedrooms. Bedroom 3 is a stylish queen with a dressing table and a big picture window overlooking the village. Bedroom 2 is great for families or groups, featuring a custom-built double bed with two full-size single bunks above it. It’s got access to a terrace and an en-suite with twin sinks, a walk-in shower and WC. The showpiece on this floor is bedroom 1 – the master suite. With a window seat perfectly positioned in front of another huge picture window, you’ll never tire of the views. There’s a queen bed, TV and a dressing table, and the en-suite features twin sinks and a walk-in shower. There is also a door leading out to a secluded terrace and garden area.

On the lower level, there is a cinema room with a starlit ceiling, plush sofas and bean bags invites you to kick back with a film after a day in the mountains. Alternatively, get in a fitness session in the glass-walled gym, which has yoga mats, a Peloton bike and a Peloton running machine. The views will keep you motivated (or at least distracted) while you work out. There’s also a beautiful hammam on this level – ideal for a post-ski steam – and a well-equipped laundry area with a sink, washing machine and dryer.

Two more bedrooms complete this floor. Bedroom 5 feels like something out of a boutique hotel, with a freestanding copper bathtub in the room and a gorgeous sun terrace offering jaw-dropping views of the village and mountains. It’s got a queen bed and an en-suite with a WC, sink and a walk-in shower. Bedroom 4 also has a custom-built double bed, en-suite shower room, and direct access to a lovely terrace area with comfy seating – the perfect peaceful nook for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.

Outside, there is a covered carport with space for two vehicles, plus two vehicles parked in front of the chalet. There is also a boot and bike room by the front door with a handy dog wash area (essential after muddy mountain walks in summer). This separate space also has boot dryers to ensure your ski boots are warm and dry before each day’s adventure.
