Found in the Tyrrhenian Sea, just off the Sorrentine Peninsula, is the little Italian island of Capri. In the Campania region of Italy and on the south side of the Gulf of Naples, the island has been a resort since the time of the Roman Republic.

The main town Capri shares the islands name. The island is remarkable to explore with cute features such as the Marina Piccola, also known as the little harbour or the bay where, they say, Ulysses was seduced by the sirens. Take a stroll around the Belvedere of Tragara, classed as one of the prettiest scenic walks in Europe and gaze upon the most beautiful view of the water and of the Faraglioni Rocks. Maybe go and visit the town of Anacapri, or row into the stunning Grotta Azzurra, otherwise known as the Blue Grotto and stare upon the statues of pagan gods found on the bottom of the cave that date back to the Roman times. For more Roman history, exploring the ruins of the Imperial Roman villas is an interesting and a history filled adventure.

The town of Capri is the islands main population centre, and many luxury villas are available to host your stay upon this historic Roman town.
